I have always been fascinated by the way layers of ink come together to create an image or pattern. As a child, I would stare at the 1970s wallpaper in our family home, captivated by how carefully placed layers of colour built intricate branches and leaves. I was also intrigued by the way those motifs could extend endlessly, repeating in a seamless, continuous pattern.

After taking a gap year in India, where I developed my appreciation for textiles, fabrics and traditional block printing, I studied Classics with History of Art at the University of Birmingham. I then moved to London, where I worked for the Heritage Lottery Fund and the British Museum before joining a property development company.

Following marriage, I relocated to the Cotswolds, where I balanced family life with a series of design-focused roles: working for Sarah Hardaker Ltd, Zardi & Zardi, and the interior design practice Kelmscott Studio, gaining valuable experience in textiles, interiors and decorative design.

As my family grew up, I returned to my long-standing passion for printmaking. I spent a year studying print at Spike Island in Bristol while teaching myself the digital skills needed to transform my hand-printed work into surface pattern designs. Today, my practice combines traditional screen printing with digital processes, allowing the language of layering to continue across fabric, wallpaper and other decorative surfaces, whilst while preserving the character and charm of handcrafted design.

My designs are inspired by the landscapes and natural environment that surround me, as well as the architecture, textiles and patterns I discover through travel. Whether drawn from the countryside or further afield, these influences are distilled into layered, rhythmic designs that celebrate colour and the beauty of pattern.
